I am currently part of integrated agency VCCP's UX team. Here I work with clients such as O2 and Canon.
I worked at the governement Department for International Trade for 7 months, researching for and designing a brand new internal CRM system to meet the needs of its staff and help towards the UK's trade and investment targets.
I joined award-winning Experience Design and Technology company, Splendid for 6 months, to work on an exciting research and design project within the energy market. Working in agile sprints, I gathered consumer and market insights and identified key themes that informed the upcoming design phase. I also overhauled the appointment booking system for highstreet retailer, Boots.
"Steph has a very rare mix of skills and temperament that combine to make her very special.
She goes the extra mile, knows her stuff and creates a fun and energetic working environment. Steph's aptitude for UX and customer research was crucial to the success of the project, where she pushed our research and testing approach through continuous Guerrilla testing and Expert interviews.
Steph's ability to get the best out of everyone around her (clients and Splendidites) through making warm, strong relationships was extremely benificial as a lead but as a peer as well.
She's pragmatic, honest, collaborative and compassionate and a committed grafter. You should hire her!"
Lead UX Designer at Splendid, Jamie Smith
I worked on two projects within healthcare and pharmaceuticals. The first creating an interactive, responsive prototype for a pharma website. The second required me to create a customer experience map based on the results of a survey and set of interviews. This needed to double-up as a pitch for extending the project into the production phase.
"Steph is a well rounded UX designer that get things done and has a level of skills and maturity that makes it very easy to have her on your team. She came to help with a project with a very tight deadline and was able to quickly get up to speed with previous user research and translate it into a great design solution. She doesn't need constant supervision to move things forward and her thoughtful and humble character meant that she was able to gather feedback and collaborate with other team members and the client with ease.
I would not hesitate working with Steph again and I highly recommend her for any UX project."
Lead UX Designer at Nitro Digital, Sergio Felipe
The 24 hour flight from Syndey to London didn't appeal to me, so I decided to take the slow route home via Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia and Thailand.
I worked Australia's largest independent design and innovation consultancy for 6 months before heading back home to London. I consulted at Westpac, one of Australia's leading banks. There I was a key customer experience designer for "Wonder", a market-leading, home loan exploration portal within their internet banking platform.
"Steph is all the things you look for in a great UX designer: passionate, thoughtful, enthusiastic, humble and self-motivated. Sounds like a lot of buzz words but she exhibits all these qualities and more.
Flung into a complex, behemoth, ever moving project she excelled. She's great at working in an agile environment working with BAs, business owners and ensuring that a great user experience is delivered. A master with a whiteboard she's confident solving complex problems and presenting to senior management.
Steph has a natural ability in balancing what's fundamental to a great user experience and which elements can be adapted to meet timelines and agile sprints. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Steph again in a heartbeat and will keep a close eye on her success in the world of UX."
Experience Design Director at Symplicit, Dave Hayes
I was tasked to redesign the experience of applying for a mortgage with HSBC Australia. This was a fast turnaround project that required me to work through discovery, concepting and wireframing sprint phases. I produced a working prototype with Axure that I tested with four participants per sprint. I ran workshops with colleagues from varying disciplines and with the client, and presented my work regularly to the large group of stakeholders.
Working very closely with the UX team to overhaul the personal loan section of ASB Bank New Zealand's public website. I paid particular attention to their calculators, where I focused on making them simple and intuitive, meeting both customer and business needs.
South America had been calling me for many years so the World Cup was the final push I needed to set off to explore this amazing continent. I'm going to be exploring new cultures for six months and will then settle for a year to work in Australia.
I worked for The Engine Group's social media agency Jam as a mobile-focused designer. I did both UX and graphic design for tablet and mobile apps and mobile websites. Jam has many highly esteemed clients which I had the pleasure of working with, including Santander, Sky, RBS, Next and Capital One.
"Steph worked for me at Jam in her first job out of Uni and It was a total pleasure to see her develop in to the extremely talented individual that she is today. Multi skilled, she brings a real eye for detail and creative flair in everything she does. She is passionate about great UX and beautiful design never comprising and always finding a solution. Easy to talk to and great to work with. Steph will be a star where ever she lands in her new adventure in Australia and beyond!"
Head of Mobile at Jam, Dan Beasley
"Steph is an incredible talent within the digital world. She can single handedly tackle large design projects with enthusiasm and expertise. At Jam she was a well respected team leader and a friend to everyone, including the clients. I am happy to recommend Steph to anyone seeking a hard working digital designer who brings a great skill set and large smile to the workplace."
Project Creative Director at Jam, Chris Constantine
After graduating I joined Jam in their mobile team. I started designing for mobile and tablet and vastly improved my skills as a designer that lead to my promotion as Mobile Designer. I overtook the design of the RBS 6 Nations Live Challenge App and started working in UX design producing wireframes for the Get Your Flag Out app.
Whilst studying I worked on many different projects and learnt about the fundamental design and creative principles. I wrote my disseration on Effective Green Marketing, looking at how different consumers react to environment-related messaging.
